Fickle Friends
I think I must’ve listened to Fickle Friends on Soundcloud more than any other band over the past 12 months, which makes me pretty chuffed to be announcing this:
Twisterella Festival
Andy from The Kids Are Solid Gold & I are organising a brand new multi-venue metropolitan music festival in the heart of Middlesbrough this October. Twisterella Festival is centred around the Linthorpe Road & Southfield Road area of town and will be showcasing over 40 of the finest emerging national and international bands. Tickets are on-sale now priced at £15 and the line-up, well, I might be biased, but I reckon it’s ace. Be ahead of the curve and discover your new favourite band:
THUMPERS
Just confirmed the brilliant THUMPERS to play the Mixtape 5th Birthday bash on Tuesday 11th February. Love this band, make sure you check ’em out if you haven’t already:

RIVALS

A gloriously heavy, life-affirming three-piece from the North-East of England. Featuring members of The Futureheads and The Mercury League, the band formed out of a shared love of 80s hardcore. New single “I’m Not An Animal” out now on Tiny Lights Recordings.

ALGIERS

Sheffield duo John W Goodwin (The Maple State) and William K J Anderson (DARTZ!) play truly brilliant songs influenced by Death Cab for Cutie, American Football, The Weakerthans and The Walkmen. Debut album “You’re The Captain” released by Xtra Mile Recordings (Frank Turner, Against Me, Future Of The Left) this February.
